Jammeh Appoints Another Three Ministers

Jammeh shakes hand with Fatou Lamin Faye
President Yahya Jammeh on Wednesday appointed another batch of three ministers as part of his cabinet formation that started on Friday following the cabinet dissolution on 2nd February.
Fatou Lamin Faye has been appointed as minister for Basic and Secondary Education, Teneng Ba Jaiteh as deputy minister for Energy and Petroleum and Fatou Gaye as minister for Forestry and Environment, a statement from State House said.
Faye and Jaiteh were in the former cabinet and are now re-appointed to their former positions.
In a similar development, Jammeh, who is gradually rebuilding his cabinet, on Tuesday re-appointed the former Health Minister, Fatim Badjie to the same position. He also appointed one Kebba Touray as minister for Trade and Regional Integration, taking over from Abdou Colley, who was on Monday appointed as minister for fisheries.
A total of twelve ministers, including the vice president, are now in the new government.
However, the portfolio of attorney general and minister for justice, minister for youth and sports are yet to be filled.
